Eesti Krediidipank

The work of the Eesti Krediidipank in Estonia was awarded with silver in the 2nd category (> 219 kWh/m² per year) at the European level. Eesti Krediidipank achieved savings of 28 % and therewith managed to reduce its energy costs by 11,000 Euro.

In the run-up to the competition measures were identified, chosen and prioritised through consultations with experts and based on discussions among the responsible employees. Heating energy turned out to be the area of the highest energy saving potential. The most efficient measure was the lowering of the temperature in rooms by almost 4 degrees.

A study revealed that windows were often used to air the rooms. After ventilation filters had been replaced, the aeration could be almost stopped. In rooms with high solar radiation the windows were covered with special films, diminishing overheating during summer. Finally improvements in the ventilation system affected the indoor air quality in a positive way and the purpose of the local heating controls led to a more comfortable climate inside the offices.
